For TMA03 we had to choose a person who we thought had made the most significant contribution to the development of the Internet. We had to describe, in a 1000 word report, the part they played and explain why we felt their contribution was the most significant.
We were to use only the course material and set book for information,
which assessed the materials very well. For this part of the assignment I
chose Paul Baran
, there was a whole chapter dedicated to him in the set book and background
information in the course material.
Also, we had a group discussion to say what factors make a persons contribution
important. My contribution to the conference can be found

, this was interesting and confirmed our understanding of the course material.
We also had to produce a bibliography of three websites on the topic of
Internet protocols. We described what the site said and explained why we chose
it. I did very well at this and overall my tutor said ‘A good piece of work,
well set out and presented’ and I was very please with that.
I could have improved my performance by designing my report like a web
page rather than a word-processed document. It wasn’t very web like but
I didn’t want it to look cluttered. Future reports will be more adventurous
and colourful. Also one of my pictures did not upload correctly so I need
to work on that mistake not happening again.
