State what you learnt from the module, making reference to two objectives
of the module, and cite content and exercises from the module to illustrate

From this module I have learnt to 'identify the key people, organisations
and technologies who have played a part in the development of the personal
computer', and I can now 'give a coherent and informed account of the development
of the PC', both quotes being objectives of this module [1]. One person
I can identify and who influenced the development of the PC was Gordon Moore.
He co-founded Intel and developed Moore's Law as described in the course
material.
An activity of this module was an Online Tutorial called 'Online Writing'.
In this Tutorial I worked as part of a group to produce a web page called
Gordon Moore
to show an understanding of the course material and to practise web
page production.
This module also taught me about the hardware and software used in a
computer enabling me to achieve the objective of 'explaining the basic architecture
of a computer and the functions of its main hardware and software components'
[1]. The course material described the components of a computer with pictures,
jokes, tables and simple to follow diagrams to explain hardware, software,
languages, applications and much more, to ease the complexity of the subject.
One exercise of the module was Note Taking
. This exercise entailed making notes about the 'components of a typical
computer, and what their functions are' using an HTML editor. This was
to confirm our understanding of the material and to practise using an HTML
editor.
